Kids Church

Early Childhood

For our youngest kids, the 3 year olds through Kindergarten age, we have found that grouping them in with the elementary kids just doesn’t create an optimal learning environment for them. They often get lost in the shuffle, and while they may have a good time, they are not necessarily learning or retaining much about God and his Word. For these reasons, we have created a totally separate experience for our younger kids!

We have chosen FaithWeaver Bible Curriculum for our little friends. FaithWeaver makes Bible learning fun and uses a variety of active experiences to help students learn in the ways they learn best. It aims to help the children “weave faith into life” by applying the Bible to their lives throughout every week. And with FaithWeaver, students walk through the Bible over the course of three years.

We want to partner with you in your child’s Christian education! As a parent, you are the most important spiritual teacher for your child. Research shows that the most powerful influence on children’s faith development is the conversations about faith that take place in the home. Using the resources that are part of FaithWeaver, you can make a huge contribution to your child’s Christian growth.

• Every week your child will receive a take-home paper that includes ideas for family discussions and activities that will help cement what your child learns at church.

• Check out the HomeConnect™ Internet updates at www.faithweaver.com/teachertips.asp (just click on “HomeConnect”) for links on the Internet that families can explore together to reinforce weekly Bible Points. These ideas are created specifically to help families grow closer as they grow in relationship with Jesus!

We hope you’ll find encouragement in your role as a parent and a spiritual leader for your child. May these tools serve to remind you how important you are in your child’s life—and how blessed you are to be entrusted with this awesome responsibility!

Elementary

For our Sunday morning time together we especially wanted to choose something that would get the kids into God’s Word and set a solid faith foundation for them…oh, and it had to be fun and relevant! It’s called BIBLE BLITZ, where the Bible is the student book! In fact, each child will be presented with their very own Hands-On Bible that they will be responsible to bring with them.

The Award-winning Hands-On Bible is designed to get kids directly into the Bible and it ROCKS! It will help kids apply the Bible to their lives through hundreds of science experiments, snacks, games, crafts--and all with life application. Plus, it includes key verse activities, biographies, fun facts, family devotions, and a journal. Read more about it at www.group.com.

The goal is simple: To get the kids into the Bible and the Bible into the kids! Each week the kid’s will open their Bibles and experience God's Word—firsthand! They will do this in both large and small groups called Blitz Teams. Worship and prayer will be responses to what they have learned. This three-year curriculum is intended to help kids build a deep and lasting friendship with God through the Bible. Our hope is that you will see your kids grow in amazing ways as they dig into the Bible, experience its truths, and apply those truths to their lives!

As a Children’s Ministry Team, we want to partner with you in your child’s Christian education. As a parent, you are the most important spiritual teacher for your child! Research shows that the most powerful influence on children’s faith development is the conversations about faith that take place in the home. Using the resources that are part of BIBLE BLITZ, you can make a huge contribution to your child’s Christian growth:

• Each week they will also be bringing home a Family Devotion, with fun activities and discussion questions so that you can help your child in applying what they have learned during the week…and you might even have a little fun as well!

• The kids will now have their very own Bible. Check in with them periodically to see if they are reading it or see if they want to find an activity to do in it. Maybe you could even suggest reading it together during a meal or before bedtime.

We hope you’ll find encouragement in your role as a parent and a spiritual leader for your child. May these tools serve to remind you how important you are in your child’s life—and how blessed you are to be entrusted with this awesome responsibility!
